Obituary of Beatrice May Southard

Beatrice May "Bonnie" Southard (Harris) Age 95 of Erin. She was born February 15, 1929 in Big Flats, NY, the daughter of the late Orin and Jessie (Shaw) Harris. Bonnie passed away peacefully at home, as was her wish, on Friday, March 15, 2024. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear husband George D. Southard in 1998; along with 4 of her brothers. She is survived by her children Patricia (Rick) Horton, Bonnie Jean (Dale) Franklin, Stephen (Darlene) Southard, and Juanita (David) Butler; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; her brother Richard Harris; step sister Nancy Reed; special cousin Clinton Ray Carpenter; and a host of extended family and friends. Beatrice took her joy from raising her family; she was proud of how they grew, and what they accomplished. A loving a compassionate matriarch to all generations, she loved playing with her great and great-great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm. Her funeral service will be held there at 1 pm. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads – in eternal peace with her husband.
